There is an appealing story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den betting is not legal. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, financing sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that features a number of conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight tables.
